EM Normandie

Partner Profile

EM Normandie Business School (EM) activities within the Atlantic Bridges project will include the organisation of the first steering committee with the project’s international partners. In addition, EM will be responsible for identifying and engaging local stakeholders within the socio-ecosystem of Le Havre. Interviews will be conducted with representatives from four stakeholder categories: public institutions and local authorities; port, logistics, and blue economy companies; higher education and research institutions; and local trade unions, civil society organisations, and associations.

In cooperation with this local stakeholder group and EM faculty members, a diagnosis of the Le Havre territory will be developed, and the results will be shared with both participants and local citizens. These representatives will then be involved in six core meetings, during which they will collaborate and take part in conservation workshops. EM Normandie will facilitate the round tables to support the co-development of an action plan, while ensuring equitable and respectful conditions for dialogue and consultation.

Building on these results, EM will develop a methodology that integrates the three sustainability pillars of the Atlantic Bridges project. This methodology will be adapted to the local territorial context while remaining transferable to other port-city territories. The analysis will draw on the results produced by EM project partners in Spain, Ireland, Portugal, and France.

Role within the Atlantic Bridges projects

EM Normandie Business School has recognised expertise in sustainable development, social transition, and economic transformation, fully aligned with the three sustainability pillars of the Atlantic Bridges project. It also has a strong specialisation in the maritime and port domain, notably through its dedicated teaching and research institute. With a campus located in the port city of Le Havre, EM Normandie benefits from close ties with port stakeholders and real-world port-city ecosystems.

EM Normandie will coordinate the Social Transition Working Group and will be responsible for the project’s results and deliverables related to this sustainability pillar, including the production of the final outputs. In addition, building on its strong academic expertise, EM will model socio-economic parameters and elaborate a methodological report aimed at transferring the Atlantic Bridges methods and results to other external territories.
