Eixo Atlântico do Noroeste Peninsular
Eixo Atlántico do Noroeste Peninsular is a cross-border association of municipalities and institutions from Northern Portugal and Galicia, created to promote territorial cohesion, sustainable development and institutional cooperation across the Euro-regional space. Its mission is to strengthen social, economic, cultural and environmental integration by fostering joint strategies, facilitating dialogue between public authorities and promoting the international visibility of the Atlantic territory.
The organization’s core activities focus on cross-border governance, urban and regional development, mobility, culture, youth engagement and European cooperation. It has extensive expertise in designing and implementing transnational initiatives, particularly within EU-funded frameworks, where it contributes to project coordination, stakeholder engagement, dissemination and policy impact.


Within the Atlantic Bridges project, Eixo Atlántico plays a key role in partnership building, territorial outreach and the transfer of good practices among participating regions. Its long trajectory in European territorial cooperation includes participation in numerous Interreg and other EU programmes, positioning the association as a reliable partner with strong institutional networks and proven management capacity.
Over the years, Eixo Atlántico has led and collaborated on projects that advance cross-border mobility, cultural exchange, innovation ecosystems and sustainable urban policies, reinforcing its reputation as a reference entity in Euro-regional cooperation.
